Dr. Frial is President of Norwil C. Frial & Associates, Ltd., and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor. He earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Certificate in Clinical Hypnosis from the Adler School of Professional Psychology; his Master's degree in Addiction Counseling; and his Certificate in Counseling and Psychotherapy with LGBT Clients and Their Families from the Center on Halsted's Clinical Training Center.
Dr. Frial's background has been in the field of social services and education as an Administrator, Program Director, Clinician, Trainer, Instructor and Volunteer. This has given him the opportunity to direct, manage, train and work closely with a diverse group of professionals and support staff as well as volunteers and members of the Board of Directors.
His experience has been mostly with adults, and some work with children and adolescents, who have experienced emotional, psychological and behavioral problems such as depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug use, identity issues, sexuality issues, adjustment, stress, grief and loss. He has worked with the special needs of the GLBTQ community, formerly incarcerated, homeless, unemployed, developmentally delayed, and those who have experienced career changes, school problems, and other major life challenges and transitions.
Dr. Frial's training interests include Counseling Skills, Psychology, Substance Abuse, Mental Illness, Gay & Lesbian Issues, Diversity, Mental Illness and Substance Abuse, Working with Special Populations, Program Development and Evaluation, Staff Training and Supervision, and Workforce Development.
